The Chicago Bears plan on releasing Mike Glennon one year after signing him to a three-year, $45-million deal that reportedly included as much as $18.5 million in guaranteed money.

Once Glennon hits the open market, he already has a team vying for his talents, or lack thereof, and that’s the Arizona Cardinals.

Glennon went 1-3 as the Bears’ starter, throwing four touchdowns and five interceptions until he was benched for Trubisky. Something about those stats was good enough for the Cardinals to put him on their radar.

The Cardinals originally had high hopes for Case Keenum and Kirk Cousins, but those two have already committed to signing to other teams. They are also in the running for Sam Bradford’s services.
