REPORT: Joe Flacco Dealing With Hip Injury and May Need Surgery

Hm. Selecting quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft may not have been such a bad idea after all.

According to reports, Joe Flacco is currently being evaluated for a hip injury, which could call for surgery and sideline the starting quarterback for the time being.

It’s also possible that Flacco could play through the injury, but there is almost no need for the Ravens to let that happen. When you have what looks to be your franchise quarterback sitting in the wing, why rush a 33-year-old Flacco back onto the field?

Is it finally Lamar Jackson time? The team has been using the rookie for trick plays throughout the season, so he’s seen the field. Jackson is athletic enough to make them work, but he’s a quarterback, despite what some armchair managers say.

While it’s exciting to see a young talent get his shot, it’s also sad to see Flacco fall to the wayside. His tenure in Baltimore seems to be crumbling week by week.
