The Cleveland Browns didn’t lose their regular season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The only problem is, they didn’t win either. The Plain Dealer summed up the game perfectly, since emotions after tying are usually hard to find.

Browns fans should be very happy with this headline. They easily could’ve gone quietly into the night when they were down 21-7. Instead, they battled back by scoring 14 unanswered and forced the game into overtime.
Even though they had their game-winning field goal attempt blocked, it was a step in the right direction. At least they were IN the game. It would be too much a fantasy for them to actually win, so the football Gods decided to pump the brakes a little bit.
Ties are terrible in sports, as you’d rather be happy to win or motivated to win the next. For newspaper publications, you have to think outside the box.
Welp.

Although they technically didn’t win, many would like to think that this Browns team won’t go winless in a season again.
With every step they make, look for The Plain Dealer to summarize Browns games with an appropriate sendoff.
