DeShone Kizer’s Quote to Aaron Rodgers After Win Shows How Thankful He is to Be a Packer

When Aaron Rodgers went down with a knee injury Sunday night against the Bears, backup quarterback Deshone Kizer had to step in for the rest of the second quarter.

Even though he committed two turnovers, Kizer couldn’t have been happier following the final whistle.

After going winless last season with the Browns, Rodgers helped him finally get the feeling of an NFL win.

After starting 15 games for Cleveland last season, Kizer finally earned his first victory in the NFL.

Although he didn’t have much to do with the win (and actually made the comeback tougher for Green Bay by throwing a pick-six), it’s special to see a player genuinely happy just to be part of a team that wins games.

The back of a locker room after a loss is a quiet and gloomy place to be. Now imagine that happening 16 times over the course of four months.

With a thrilling comeback victory, Kizer probably didn’t know what to do when he was greeted with smiles after entering that locker room.

When you develop a losing culture, it’s hard to get out of it, and sometimes playing for another team gives you an insight on just how different things can be.

For the young QB, he’s hoping this is only the start for the Packers.
