After the Kansas City Chiefs released running back Kareem Hunt in November after video footage surfaced depicting him assaulting a woman, the team has been looking to improve their backfield and fully turn the page from 2018.

CBS reporter Jason La Canfora stated on Friday that the Chiefs are trying to acquire an offensive talent this offseason, and that there is a chance it could be Pittsburgh Steelers running back and imminent unrestricted free agent LeVeon Bell.

The Chiefs had one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL last season led by league MVP Patrick Mahomes, so the addition of another impact piece could take this team to unbelievable heights. As of right now, though, most of the news here is just chatter. No negotiations have been reported, nor have any dollar figures.

Keep in mind that there was no explicit mention from a Chiefs source that Bell was a current target, but this story will definitely be one to watch in the coming weeks and months.

With the Combine rolling along and the NFL Draft taking place in under two months, the Chiefs have a ton of decisions to make. Do they try to acquire Bell for massive money, or do they draft a young running back and try to develop him moving forward as they intended to do with Hunt? Get that popcorn ready, KC.
