VIDEO: Deion Sanders Believes New Orleans Should Trade for Patrick Peterson

The New Orleans Saints are on a four-game win streak and just finished thumping the Redskins to prove they’re one of the better teams in the league. We can only remember Drew Brees lighting Washington up like a Christmas tree, but it wasn’t long ago when there were question marks about their defense. To solve whatever issues there still may be, Deion Sanders has the perfect solution for the team. Add someone of Prime’s caliber, like Patrick Peterson.

If that’s the case, feel free to pencil the Saints in for a Super Bowl appearance.

New Orleans didn’t have the same hot start defensively that they had a year ago, but you can’t ignore the talent they have on that side of the ball. Marcus Davenport is getting better each and every week, Cam Jordan is one of the best linemen in football, and you can’t say enough good things about Marshon Lattimore.

A secondary with Peterson and the former Rookie of the Year would be impossible to pass on. Strictly impossible.

Peterson would fill in the hole left behind by Patrick Robinson and then some. He’s one of the best defensive players in football, not just at his position. He’s still just 28 and is a phenom for the Cardinals despite their awful record.

The only problem is, this would be impossible for the Saints to pull off. Not only is Peterson pretty much off limits, but the Saints don’t have much to trade. They don’t have their third and first round draft picks for next year and Arizona may not want to wait until 2020 to reap the benefits of this trade.

It’s fun to think about, but extremely unlikely, unless the Cardinals have a bet on the Saints bringing the Lombardi back to New Orleans.
