In Monday night’s matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins, the former made a big statement against one of the best defenses in the NFL, while their quarterback Drew Brees nabbed the league’s all-time leading passer mark all by his lonesome.
The 43-19 spanking by New Orleans told us a bunch about both teams, but the postgame activities brought a different sort of statement, this time by running back Alvin Kamara.

The Saints’ young star was seen in the locker room donning a Colin Kaepernick jersey along with a hat which read “Make Africa Home Again”. Of course, the hat was styled after the campaign attire used by then-candidate Donald Trump during his run for president.
Kamara’s statement coincides with the arrival of newly-acquired Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid, who continued his protests on the field by kneeling during the national anthem. Many believe that Reid was left without a job because of his protests and that his signing is a step in the right direction. Clearly, Kamara is in support of Kaepernick and his fellow protesters in the league, and also isn’t scared of showing it off.

Protests during NFL games are unlikely to end anytime soon, as players continue to advocate for change surrounding police brutality and killings of unarmed civilians. While some players won’t display their support on the field or during the anthem, cases like Kamara’s signify that there’s more support for the cause than meets the eye in the league.
Like it or not, it’s well within the rights of the men on the field, and they’re not going anywhere.
