The injury bug has certainly hit the Atlanta Falcons this season and it hit again as they have lost offensive guard Andy Levitre for the remainder of the season with a triceps injury.
Levitre, who suffered the injury in the 31-24 victory against the Carolina Panthers, was placed on injured reserve today and the team signed veteran guard Zac Kerin to fill the roster spot.

“After receiving the test results on Andy’s injury from Sunday’s game, it has been determined that he will miss the remainder of the season with a triceps injury,” Dan Quinn, head coach of the Falcons, said. “Andy worked extremely hard to get back on the field after a similar injury last year, and there is no doubt his leadership will continue to be felt this year. We have a ton of respect for Andy and what he stands for, and what he means to our team.”
​​With how well Wes Schweitzer, the ​Falcons right tackle last season, played in Levitre’s absence, he is the favorite to take over the position.
With him in the game, the Falcons gained 442 yards of offense, which included 170 rushing yards.

Kerin has spent four seasons in the NFL, playing for the ​Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and New York Giants during that span.
His presence on the roster gives the Falcons a serviceable player should the Falcons need him to step in for whatever reason.
